Payment Methods
As with our treatments, payment is clearly outlined before anything takes place. We offer flexible payment options to meet the needs of most individuals and families.
Your treatment plan provides a breakdown of costs and any fees. We have an experienced team who will discuss your financing options and payment plans at the time of service. We accept major credit cards.
Orthodontic Insurance Solutions
Our office strives to help you maximize your orthodontic insurance benefits. As insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. Your estimated patient portion must be paid at the time of service.

Dr. Lucas and team did a great job with my son's teeth. The braces were on and off in 14 months, minimal discomfort, easy scheduling, and several office locations for convenience.

This orthodontist is awesome! I took my daughter here for a consult today and all I can say is wow! This was our second consult with an orthodontist and this experience was much better. Dr. Lucas and his staff are very friendly, make you feel welcome, and explain every part of your treatment plan.

What You Need to Know About Orthodontics
- What is the difference between an orthodontist and a dentist? An orthodontist is a general dentist who has had two to three more years of full-time training in orthodontics, resulting in a nationally accepted specialty certificate. The orthodontist then limits their practice to straightening teeth and correcting jaw problems.
You need to continue seeing your general dentist during orthodontic treatment.
- What is Phase 1 treatment? Phase 1 treatment is delivered early and before all permanent teeth have erupted. The purpose of this early care is to start correcting harmful malocclusions or poor bites that may be more difficult or impossible to correct later.
Phase 1 treatment includes correcting crossbites, underbites, and overbites. This is to restore the function of the bite, improve aesthetics, or relieve psychological concerns. Phase 1 treatment doesn’t eliminate the need for further orthodontics (during the teenage years) but rather helps reduce treatment and improve future health.
- What is Phase 2 treatment? Conventional orthodontics is also known as Phase 2 treatment and may start while the last baby teeth are still falling out. Usually, this phase continues until the 12-year molars have been assessed and aligned. This treatment varies depending on each patients’ personal needs but typically lasts between 18-36 months.
- Will it hurt? Most patients experience very little discomfort during and after their treatment at Lucas Orthodontic Group.
The procedure to place your braces does not hurt. However, you may feel some soreness for a few days after we place the braces and connect the archwires. There is also a bedding in period as your teeth and lips adapt to the new braces.
- How long does orthodontic treatment take? There are a number of factors that affect your personal treatment time such as:
- Rate of growth
- Severity of the correction
- Your commitment to oral hygiene
- Your attenedance at regular check-ups
Although treatment times vary on a case-by-case basis, it typically takes one to two years to your align your smile.
